The events that began in Ukraine on February 24, 2022, posed another challenge to the world, the elimination of this challenge requires special cooperation between states. However, there is a clear trend towards distancing the warring parties, which causes conflict of interests between them.
The parties, who are directly involved in the conflict (the Russian Federation and Ukraine) belong to the Black Sea basin countries, therefore the region is an object of active surveillance on a global scale since the uncontrolled events that took place threaten the peaceful development of the region as well. Consequently, the geographical position of the Black Sea is an interest not only for the region but also for global players. The environment in the region, which has become even more unstable over the past decade, worries the international community.
